Oats occupies top
place in the list of healthy food items. They are actually considered as
nutritious. They have Cholesterol lowering properties. Oats is a good source of
fiber, iron, magnesium and vitamin B1. Typical South Indians like to have heavy
meals. Oats Uttapam is one of various ways of enjoying health in your heavy
diet. This way of cooking oats will help us to relish the taste and have the best
benefits. Oats are considered to be the most filling food items and hence it
suites perfectly in case of healthy heavy meal. Try serving this dish to your

Ingredients required:
Oats

Half Cup

Suji /
Semolina

Half Cup

Curd

Full Cup

Jeera

Half Tea Spoon

Salt

Full Tea Spoon

Ginger
|
Full Tea Spoon

Oil

One Spoon

Onion

Green Chilli

Carrot
|
|
Coriander
leaves

Procedure to make Oats
Uttapam :
2. Mix Oats, Suji,
Curd and Salt and add some water to the mixture.
3. Add Cumin Seeds and
Ginger to the mixture and Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
4. Heat a non stick
tawa / pan and pour one full spoon oil into it. Take the above mixture and
spread it in the heated pan in circular shape.
5. Now add the Carrot,
Chilli, Onions and Coriander as toppings. Close the pan with a lid. Let it boil
for few minutes.
6. Once it starts
lifting around the corners, flip the Uttapam to the other side.
8. Once it gets cooked
perfectly, you can place Uttapam on the plate and serve it to your family
members with Coconut, Ginger or Tomato chutney.
